2023 Annual Conference:
Fostering Communities of Belonging
In the fall of 2023, our community of philanthropy gathered in Detroit for the CMF 51st Annual Conference to explore the idea of belonging and what it means in our collective equity journey. At its core, belonging is about diversity, equity and inclusion – when conditions are created to ensure all can be their authentic selves and fully and meaningfully participate in systems and structures with equal opportunity, power and access. The challenges and struggles we share bring us together, grounded in our common humanity. Together, we created connections, engaged in collaborative conversations and shared learning across breakout sessions, immersive experiences, workshops, networking, main stage events and much more.
We are grateful to the 2023 Sponsors and Exhibitors who helped support an outstanding conference experience for more than 500 attendees.
Save the date and join your philanthropy peers for the CMF 52nd Annual Conference, taking place October 7-9, 2024, in Traverse City! Registration opens in late July.
Michigan Impact Investing Hub
CMF members and sector partners from across Michigan and the country gathered in Kalamazoo in April 2023 for the first in-person convening of the Michigan Impact Investing Hub.
The Michigan Impact Investing Hub is a model for connecting stakeholders engaged in impact investing, including nonprofits, foundations, advisors, fund managers and beyond.
The convening in Kalamazoo featured opportunities for shared learning around impact investing practices and policies, main stage panel discussions highlighting stories of impact within communities around the state, connection spaces by role in the impact investing ecosystem and more.
